By applying new techniques to the manufacturing process, Meinl succeeded in giving their Floatune series a unique sound. Usually, the hardware is mounted to the shell directly, which involves drilling holes in it to make room for the bolts. This series, however, features hardware that is completely isolated from the shell. That means that the shell loses none of its resonance, allowing for an even richer sound.

The 10-inch FL10NT is made of two plies of rubberwood and has quite an elegant appeal. By using carefully selected buffalo hide drumheads, this conga has a beautifully rich sound. The head's small diameter, however, ensures that you can also produce those high, sharp frequencies.
